UE Cultural history

This cultural history course, focusing on the United States, is designed as an initiation to the interdisciplinary field of print culture, with a concentration on African American print culture. Working from strong academic essays as well as primary material sources, students will reflect on the joint historiographies of African American studies and print culture, as they analyze the conditions of, and obstacles to the publication of writers submitted to racial discrimination.
