Aims

Train scientists who will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in microbiology and its industrial applications
Provide high-level, multidisciplinary scientific training in contemporary microbiology
Provide internships in the academic and industrial sectors
Offer mobility opportunities abroad and an international double degree
Propose a double master's/engineering degree

Targeted students

Holders of a L3 in Life Sciences or equivalent professional experience
Admission possible on the basis of an application for holders of an M1 or M2

Admission conditions

M1 - Mon Master : titulaires d’un BAC+3
M2 - ecandidat : étudiants (hors procédure Études En France).

Fundamental prerequisites

Hold a L3 SV degree
Have acquired a solid grounding in molecular concepts (molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics,
genomics)
Be keen to learn about the experimental approach

Structure and organisation

Master 1 common at the mention: cell biology, genetics, metabolism, genetics, host-pathogen interactions, cellular adaptation, synthetic biology, morphogenetics, bioproducts, virology, introduction to research and laboratory internships, career guidance and integration, English
Master 2 common to both courses: organisation of a congress, professional insertion
Specific MiF course: science lecture, research project, thematic workshops (microbial diversity, pathogenetics, bioenergetics, cellular homoeconomy), laboratory placement
Specific IBM course: project in white biotechnology, microbiological quality and risk, red, green and yellow biotechnologies, work placement

Master's courses are based on training through research. Bringing together researchers and professionals in the
field, the master's degree offers the opportunity to enter the job market with a BAC+5 or to continue studies at doctoral level.

Know how to exploit the properties of microorganisms with a view to adding value
Pilot or contribute to a project, as part of a team or independently, in the field of microbiology
Relate thematic disciplinary knowledge and experience acquired during interactions with professionals
Develop a professional integration project

Internships and supervised projects

Numerous interactions with various microbiology research laboratories through teaching researchers and researchers and a compulsory placement from the first year of the course, potentially abroad
A compulsory six-month end-of-study placement in an academic laboratory or company on a fundamental or applied microbiology topic

Offsite teaching

Opportunity for a double degree with the University of La Sapienza (Italy) or with Polytech Marseille (Engineering and Biotechnology).

Integration into the Research or Research and Development sectors:

Study engineers in public scientific or technical establishments
Responsible, project manager, development manager in the private sector

Laboratory manager
