The BEE major will become clearer and will be structured into 4 degree courses:

-Biodiversity: functions and conservation (BioFC, versions présentiel & téléenseignement). The BioFC pathway comprises 2 finalities: Biodiversité et fonctionnement des écosystèmes (Bioeffect) and Integrated management of wetland and shorline biodiversity (IMWEB, only in présentiel).

-Adaptive management of biodiversity (Gabi),

-Ecology for town and country management (Ecogest),

"Nature-based solutions" (SolFondNat, formerly EcoTech).

The choice of pathway is made at the time of recruitment to the mention. The first semester of M1 is common to the whole field and the BioFC pathway's aims are individualised from the second semester of M1. The various courses in the BEE major are involved in the France 2030 Transformation through Research (TIGER) project, aimed at the acquisition of numerous skills through training by researchers, players in the socio-economic world and the international arena.

The degree is structured by 3 blocks of skills and knowledge into which the UEs are integrated and which form different learning outcomes:

Block 1 (Knowledge): Master the concepts and use disciplinary and transdisciplinary scientific knowledge to identify and address problems in the sciences of ecology and evolution.

Block 2 (Construct): Determine, develop and apply methods and tools for the analysis of biological and ecological objects.

Block 3 (Apply): Apply methods and tools for the analysis of biological and evolutionary objects.

Block 3 (Apply): Design, manage and lead, individually or collaboratively, a scientific project in écology and/or évolutive biology, and build one's professional project.

The Master's graduate is therefore able to apply the following general and cross-disciplinary skills in a professional context:

- Organise the knowledge base required to define working hypotheses within an adapted thematic or practical framework ; Identify, select and analyse various resources to document a subject and synthesise this data with a view to its exploitation,

- Mobilise the fundamental concepts to deal with a problem in evolutionary ecology and biology,

- Analyse a research document, synthesise knowledge in the field concerned and use the main sources of information, exercising a critical sense,

- Pose, develop and present a scientific problem,

- Know the legal framework and the various players involved in the work undertaken,

- Adopt and master a multi-disciplinary naturalistic approach and design or implement an appropriate study protocol to solve this problem

- Analyse and synthesise data collected or existing in a database with a view to its exploitation

- Réalise and interpret statistical tests adapted to the problems dealt with and objectives of the work

- Interpret and present, in French and/or English orally and in writing, clearly and unambiguously, in an appropriate register; To present the results obtained to an audience of specialists or non-specialists; To develop an argument with a critical mind;

- Implement a collaborative project and know how to work in a multidisciplinary team in the service of a project,

- Use information and communication technologies,

Skills in communication, teamwork and project management are also widely developed through a variety of hands-on workshops and active learning approaches.
