In this portion of the course, students will be translating a variety
of cultural documents from French into English, including
reviews, interviews, playbills and exhibit catalogues.
Students will continue to practice and develop their translation
skills through discussing, analyzing and translating documents
from the cultural sphere. They will draw on their knowledge of
English grammar and linguistics, as well as on that of literature
and civilization, to propose pertinent translations both in form
and content.
Some documents will be provided by the teacher. In addition,
students will be asked to find documents of their own to analyze
and present to the class. All documents for group study will be
made available on the Amétice page for the course.
