This course introduces students to the study of literature in non-
textual media forms (e.g. on stage or screen). The lecture
reviews the theoretical and conceptual framework underlying
this approach to literature, covering concepts such as cultural
studies, visual culture, narratology, referentiality,
interdisciplinarity, text-image relations, adaptation,
intermediality, seriality and semiopragmatics. The content
covered in each seminar will vary according to the tutor. Topics
include: serial adaptation (Sébastien Lefait), film adaptation
(Lydia Martin), literature on stage (Déborah Prudhon).
